  1. Hi, I am a fellow English teacher at Delavan High School in IL. I teach sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I would love a copy of your lit terms sheets and the quizzes, if you are willing.
    Thanks! Mary Hudson

    • I think that apps are helpful to people because they can do so much on the apps. People can play games. People can make a stoudeo on they’er apps they have. And like copes can track you.Thats apps are mostliky used.

  3. I am hoping to use your Julius Caesar unit to supplement for my sophomore class unit, but I cannot seem to access the files. Are you still having technical issues?

  4. Hi, I’m looking to give your materials, but none of the likes work. I appreciate your generosity to upload these resources. Is it at all possible that you email the documents over?

  5. I would appreciate a copy of your materials for the play, Inherit the Wind. I teach English 11 and AP Literature at Dothan High School in Dothan, Alabama.

  6. Hi, It looks like you have a lot of interest in your teaching materials! I have a couple questions for you regarding your LOTF quizzes. If you could email me at the address I entered, I’ll reply with more specifics about myself and with my questions. Thanks! (I’m sure you have NOTHING else to do this time of year!)

  7. I am teaching Julius Caesar and came across your website. If you are still offering your materials, I would love to have a copy and use them. I would credit you in the materials.

  8. Please send a copy of your Julius Caesar final exam.
If you have a test that incorporates various literary devices and the plot chart, please send it in addition.

    Thank you.

  9. mra Hawke i would just like for you to know that i did my animoto video and when i got to the screen on post link i got lost so i did it but i dont know if it went through…

    • I don’t see your Animoto link in the comments on that page of the site, Michael. Were you trying to post on the class site when this happened or were you still at Animoto?

  10. Dear Mrs. Hawke,

I discovered your teaching materials when I was searching for ideas for teaching Animal Farm. You indicated that you are willing to share your work with other teachers. This would be an incredible godsend for me because I have about a month and a half to prepare plans for twelve pieces of literature. ( The Odyssey, Animal Farm, Fellowship of the Rings, Watership Down, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Book Thief, A Separate Piece, Into the Wild, The Catcher in the Rye, The Glass Menagerie) Needless to say, I feel overwhelmed sometimes, and I would be tremendously grateful to you for any help you might be able to give me!

I work in the Loudoun County school district at a small school in Virginia called Middleburg Academy. The email I listed above is my school email address. I wish I could afford to pay you for your efforts; I will at least always acknowledge your authorship.

If you are ever in Virginia, please know you have a place to rest your head in the Shenandoah Valley.

    With great gratitude,

    Kim Hafner

  11. I would love to use your SOL Writing materials in my class. This will be my first year preparing students for the EOC test, and your lesson plans look extremely helpful. I will give you credit. Thanks so much!

  12. Hi,

I am teaching a high school writing, literature and grammar class for homeschooled students. I would love to have your literary term review lists and quizzes to help them quickly refresh their memories. These students year before last wrote an adventure novel and now they want to revisit this endeavor by writing a scifi novel. I was not able to download the lists for some reason, so please include them as well as the quizzes. Thank you so much!

  13. Hi,

My daughter and I are reading A Separate Peace. In a March 2008 post, you listed several resources for studying the book that I am guessing would enhance our reading experience, but I was unable to download them; the links didn’t work, and I couldn’t find them in the archives. Could you tell me how to access the documents? Your assistance would be much appreciated.

  14. I love your stuff – it will really help me with my students who are having a difficult time grasping the information. Could I have a copy of your quizzes/test? It would be greatly appreciated.

  15. I tried to reset my password using my email, but Yahoo deactivated my account. I dont know how to login to

    • Jazmine, if you absolutely cannot figure out your password for, you will have to set up a new account. I would suggest going to, since you can access that email from school. Once you get a new email set up, send me a message at, so I can send you the class ID and password.

  16. I would love to have a copy of your resources if you wouldn’t mind to email them to me. Each time I click on a link, I am taken to a page that tells me that the link doesn’t work. Thank you so much for posting helpful writing resources.

  17. I am not new to teaching (25 years) but new to teaching the EOC Writing to my 10th grade students. I tried to look at the writing domains instrutction but the link did not work. Any suggetions for getting srated?
